Rural Development Supplementary Planning Document - Initial Consultation

This consultation closed on 16 February 2023 and we are considering the responses.
PURPOSE
This consultation aims to gather feedback on what you think the Rural Development Supplementary Planning Document should include and address.
We are in the initial stages of preparing the document, which will provide guidance on rural developments such as barn conversions, rural worker dwellings, farm diversification, annexes, economic development, equestrian developments and more. This will help support policies in our existing Local Plans.
NEXT STEPS
All comments submitted will be considered when drafting the Rural Development Supplementary Planning Document. A formal consultation on the draft document will take place later in 2023.
STAGES
1 | Pre-production *CURRENT STAGE*
Pre-production, evidence gathering and initial consultation.
2 | Drafting the document
After considering the comments made during the initial consultation, a draft document will be prepared.
3 | Public consultation on draft document
A consultation will take place on the draft document.
4 | Consideration of comments and Final SPD prepared
All comments received during the consultation will be considered, and a final document will be prepared.
5 | Adoption
The document is ‘Adopted’ by the Council and will be a material consideration when deciding planning applications.
