NEXT STEPS

We will consider all comments received before deciding whether or not to accept one of the Examiner’s proposed modifications in relation to Policy RSA9 – Design Considerations.

STAGES

Neighbourhood area

The proposed Neighbourhood Area is considered by the Council. A decision is made whether to approve the area for a Neighbourhood Plan.

Pre-submission

A draft plan is developed. Consultation takes place with the community.

Plan submitted and examiner reviews plan

The plan is submitted to East Suffolk Council, who publish the plan and hold a formal consultation to give anybody interested in plan the opportunity to make a comment. An independent examiner is sent the Neighbourhood Plan, associated documents and all comments received at the previous stage. They recommend whether or not the plan should proceed to referendum.

Additional focused consultation *CURRENT STAGE"

Should the Council disagree with the Examiner’s recommendations, the Council is required under certain circumstances to undertake consultation.

Local referendum and making of plan

Members of the community can vote on whether the plan comes into force and be used by East Suffolk Council when considering planning applications. After a successful referendum, the plan is taken to East Suffolk Council to be 'Made'.
